Otter moar interbeebz

Started up two gaming profiles

gamerDNAKatsujinken2002
I do like the way this adds many of your presences on the one page.

Raptr

Raptr appears to be far more accurate with recognising the games you have played on XBox LIVE, and also is more functional with talking to your other social profiles.

Burnout Paradise

Sorry for the lack of posts (speaking to myself hehe), but it appears that the release of the FREE Motorbike pack for BURNOUT PARADISE made me buy the game along with a friends recommendation. The demo really doesn't do the game justice tbh, but if you like arcade racers, BURNOUT games in general, or the racing genre I'm confident you can appreciate this game!

The speed in the game is insane!!!!!! Buy buy buy, I'll post some vids/pics and more details asap ;)

Beautiful Katamari

BEAUTIFUL KATAMARI 7/10 MENTALIST JAPANESE GAME THAT HAS BEEN OUT FOR AGES ON THE PS2!!

Basically you are the Prince of the universe and it is your job to roll up: Pins, pigs, people, pussy cats, ninja stars, cars, buildings, elephants, places, planets, comets, etc

A fantasticle micro review is also here! courtesy of Pete from http://theartmodern.blogspot.com/ & http://voicestellmetoburnthings.blogspot.com/

There are a few negatives for die hard Katamari fans to be found here, I find the controls are not quite as responsive as the PS2 version, and to get the whole 1000 G's from the game you MUST BUY THE DOWNLOAD CONTENT! See I would have got that regardless as the game is lush, but the fact that you are literally forced to do so.. SUCKS BIG TIME!!!

Also signs you out of XBOX LIVE, if you are not doing online which pisses me off somewhat.

pseudonym - Katsujinken

The Japanese phrase katsujinken means "life giving sword" and refers to the use of a sword to preserve life.

The concept touches a dimension beyond technical skill, alone. It can be seen as decisiveness, willpower and the principal technical ability to defeat an opponent or more. One rider against 1000, is one of the metaphors that has been used to describe katsujinken.

I grew attached to the name whilst training in Ninjutsu, and used it as my pseudonym on the net. Strangely though it has slipped into my real life, I occasionally get called Katsu, Kats by close friends.

My personal feeling/reasoning behind the name:
Just because something looks like it will, it may not.
The fear, talk, hype of something does not ensure it will be what you heard.
There is a decision in everything.
Everything can lead to a positive.
It is highly unlikely that you actually understand me.
Think outside the box.
Whatever you are given, you have choices to make.

Upgrade me!?

Getting close to mobile phone upgrade time.... But what to choose?
Looking at getting into this Twitter biz, Qik, Youtube mobile uploads, GPS could be useful after trying to find a location previously on my bike was total chaos with a paper thing >.<

Right now I have a Samsung D840 slider with 2MP cam, which has served me very well. With the exception of some highly irritating dust inside the screen, poor picture quality in low light and the occasional lock-up... But the size and basic functionality has been a joy for the last 18 months!

I'm currently looking at upgrading to a high end Samsung, Nokia, and LG atm with 5MP decent flash and other good stuff? As there has been so many advances since my last upgrade i'm keen to experience them all 1st hand!

Not interested whatsoever with the iPhone as from what I have seen review wise on TV & the web, the basic functions (SMS, photo's and video along with calling) are on the pap side.

VGI Crew where are they now.....?

A while back was a member of videogameimports web forum, it was small in comparison to other venues but for a long while it was my internet home!

The VGI forum ruled for me for lots of reasons:
Simplicity - The layout of it was really user friendly, you knew where to go to speak about any platform and mainly conversed with owners from that console area.

Members - You pretty much knew everyone on the board in one way or another, making it a really close forum. Vanpeebles, Hartley hare, busterbroon, CMcK, Hirst, Team Andromeda, Commander marklar, JOe, Hani, Devilman, Fastware, woochow, djOKterrific, Gibbon, Mepian, Nem, AnOldFriend Videogamecabbage, scotbull, Philly H, Superfamifreak, Mark the daddy, Owen, Dazzyman, BigEdd, Zaki Matar, JAPJAC,...Tbc

Atmosphere
- Totally laid back, at the same time fiery
The anticipation of getting whatever game and having others around you feeling the same.

Some really good memories had there, and plenty of unforgettable moments!
Also made some good... Dare I say it "friends"!

POLISH WEDDINGS EQUAL VODKA!

I visited Poland in July, was not sure what to expect tbh? People had told me it was not so good and that I would not really enjoy it there, most of them were from Poland themselves! My girlfriend was a little afraid that I may not enjoy it too.

When I arrived at Warsaw airports check in type thing, it was very.... Er Military looking, and the guy at the desk looked like he would very much love shoot me! After successfully avoiding being shot I exited the airport with my girlfriend, and her father was there to drive us to Starachowice.

Luckily i'd met him before so no long introductions just a hug and hello and we were off. The drive took an eternity, the roads were unfinished to say the least, and the driving style was a little bit like Burnout but with dodgy cars!

The whole journey reminded me a little of Bangkok, around the airport was nice but as soon as you started to leave Warsaw things started to look like Slough, then worse (if you can imagine).

When we reached Starachowice, the housing was mainly in massive blocks with some really nice occasional houses scattered around the area's without a block. We were staying in a block, which from the outside looked not so good! Fortunately on the inside it was really nice, as were pretty much all the other flats I visited.

A few other positives were that literally every 100 meters was a shop of sorts, there were pubs all over the place, and a night club just down the road.

Its the weekend!!

Started a Monday to Friday, 9-5 job this week! After 17 years of working Saturdays and random long, long hours... So I may just have to celebrate eh!!!!

The new workplace is dramatically different from the previous and I am enjoying doing something other than retail for once thats for sure.
